These are articles that you have seen in our monthly newsletters. Many of
you say that you clip them and keep them. Here's an easy reference for you.
Here you will also find articles that were written by Val for the Bay News

Action!!! - Written by Val for the Bay
News.
We
often hear “Surrender,” “Be at ease with whatever comes,” “Wanting causes
suffering,” “Let go and just be…” We listen and it seems to make a lot of
sense in a yoga class. But we know it is suppose to make sense in life
outside of class....(read more)
On Beliefs - Shared by Val, later adopted into an article for the Bay News.
Beliefs can be very powerful.
They have a great effect on a person’s success, failure and experience of
life. Some beliefs can help you and other can sabotage you. Some beliefs you
are quite aware of, and others are so hidden and so ingrained in your

Core Issues! -
Written by Val for the Bay News
The center of gravity of the human body lies right below the navel,
a spot often referred to as the “power center.” Throughout the world’s
healing traditions, the abdomen is seen as an important center of energy and

taken the body seriously. (read more)
Yoga for the
Different Stages in Life
- Written by Val for the Bay News
I often hear seniors say “I am too old to do Yoga.” My answer is always that
no one is too old to do yoga. Just like no one is too skinny, too big, too
stiff, too weak, too anything to do yoga. Yoga is for everyone! However,
there is a big difference between what your yoga practice should be when you
are 20, 30, 50 or 70 and more. The practice should change as the body
changes. (read more)
Is All Yoga Created Equal – Written by Val for the
Bay News
Yoga classes are abundant today. Every town, gym, spa or health club offers
yoga classes these days. Yoga classes with names like “Power Yoga,” “Flow,”
“Kundalini,” “Ashtanga,” “Bikram” and more tempt and puzzle the prospective
student - Which one is for me? What is the difference? Can I do it?

Being vs. Doing - by Stephan Bodian
To many people, there seems to be an inherent conflict between being in the
present and accomplishing everything that needs to get done. But do you have
to choose between your housework and meditation?

Letting Go
Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want
to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future. The past is closed
and limited, the future is open and free. —Dr. Deepak Chopra

We are in this world to grow
- from a talk by Swami Chetananada, Portland, OR
It's not just important for spiritual people to understand this, it's
important for every person. We're in this world to grow spiritually, and
that means to grow love and understanding. That's why we're here.
