What's NOT Included.

  • Airfare (Working on a group tic to Rome. Additional cost for pick up, but fare is much less. Details TBA)

  • Optional Cooking class (Eur. 40 per person)

  •  Day Trip to Voltera (We can book it once we get there based on how many people want to go)

  • Meals and tickets to tourist attractions during day trips are not included. Pay as you go.

How to get there:

Option 1:
Wait for me to figure out the group flying options, and you will go with the group and be picked up at whichever airport we land on, and be dropped off there at the end of the trip. With this option, you can stay in Italy longer, as long as you leave from the same airport you landed on. There may be an additional charge for the transfer to/from the airport, depending on which airport we all end up going to. Details for group flight & transportation TBA.

Option 2:
Make your way there on your own. As long as you are there by Sept 5. If you work your tickets so you end up at the same airport with the rest of us earlier, or at the same time as we do, you can hop on our ride to the hotel. We will not wait for you, if you are arriving later than we are. There may be an additional charge for the transfer to/from the airport, depending on which airport we all end up going to. Details for group transportation TBA.

Please inform me of your choice at the time of submitting your deposit.

We need 10 people min to fly as a group.

What to bring:

  • Your yoga mat and any props you need – a block, a strap, a blanket. There are no mats there for us to use.

  • Do as much research as you like ahead of time and bring a list of things you want to do in the cities we are going to visit. We will have transportation to and from the cities but non tour guides since I am sure we all want to do different things. Some people will eat their way through and others will be visiting galleries and museums.

  • If you are planning on doing shopping – bring extra bags/suitcases to put it all in. Just remember - you will have to pay for extra bags on the plane.

  • Good walking shoes! You will be doing A LOT of walking.

  • A pleasant and fun attitude! No one is allowed to complain in the most nurturing country in the world!!!

About Yoga
You will receive a schedule of classes before departure. Classes will be offered to accommodate the needs of those present on the retreat. Hence – the schedule will be done when we know who’s coming. All are welcome!!! Even people who have never done yoga before.

Each class will focus on alignment, breath and mindfulness. If you need props - you will have to bring them with you. A strap and a block are helpful. We can use towels and blankets from the hotel. Please bring your yoga mat. There will be vinyasa flow classes, yin, restorative and classes focused on core, back and hips.

Additional Info:
We will be staying in a world class facility only a few minutes walking from Monteriggioni – the main castle. This is a walled village and virtually intact, and quite astonishing.

We will visit San Gimignano – another historical walled village with many charming restaurants, el Duomo, traditional architecture, and quaint shops.

The trip to Siena is a must because Siena is quite interesting and offers all sorts of attractions and distractions – from great gelato to museums, galleries and fascinating churches.

We will visit Florence on a day when there are 2 annual festivals going on. Hopefully, we will witness the processions in addition to seeing some of the historical places like Ponte Vecchio.

AIRFARE check Pisa & Florence. If we all end up in the same town we will get a ride from the airport. If not, we will have to make special arrangements. Please stay in touch with me when you book.

I am booking to either Rome or Florence. If we end up in Florence - transfer to/from the airport will be included in the price of your retreat. If you fly into Rome or Pisa, there will be an additional charge for the transfer because these two cities are much further away. However, flights to Rome and Pisa end up MUCH cheaper!!! Details TBA.

About Traveling to Italy

  • You must leave the US on Sept 4 in order to arrive in Florence on Sept 5. Flights should be 14 – 17/18 hours. If you are flying longer you may end up in Florence on Sept 6!!! Check your flight schedule...or just wait for me to figure out the group ticket.

  • Some of you may want to go there ahead of time. There are no good directions and road markings to where we are staying. So, you can try to get to Montereggioni and ask for directions, then scout the country side for the hotel. If this is what you intend to do, please let me know, and i will give you the hotel information and a phone number.

  • You must have a valid US passport. No visa is required.

  • No traveler’s checks. Most places do not want them. Convert your money at home or use ATM’s in Italy. Check with your bank about charges for using ATM’s. Credit Cards are widely accepted.

  • There are pickpockets in the big cities. So, travel sensibly with your belongings close to you at all times. If possible, keep your money and passport under your jacket or shirt and do not stop to talk to gypsies under any circumstances!!!

  • Do not bring expensive equipment with you unless you want to ruin your vacation when you loose it or someone steals it on the street.
